June 2024 Update: UI revamp, towers and much more


UI revamp

Tower stash has been reworked into two separate menus for researching elements and accessing towers. You can now see all towers in tower stash at the same time or filter by rarities. Note that tower stash is still filtered by elements in "Build" game mode.

Selected tower menu has been moved to the bottom of the screen. You can now open the it at the same time as other menus which makes the process of equipping items must smoother! Tower abilities are now displayed as icons with tooltips instead of text. Ranges for abilities now show up when you hover over the ability. There's also a new "mini details" panel, which can be used to quickly check tower stats.


Buffs now display stack count and remaining duration.

More towers have been ported from original YouTD:

Quality of life

Autospawn and autooil commands are now available. You can read more about them in the Hints menu.

Added ability to change game speed:

Added ability to return all items from Horadric cube to item stash.

Improved the experience of moving items between inventories and stashes. You can now drop items in empty slots and swap items.

Misc

The "240" game length now features bonus waves after the final boss.

Changed many ability tooltips to be less confusing.

Layout of the Hints menu has been improved and new hints have been added.

Reworked the tutorial. Tutorial now has screenshots and appears in reaction to game events instead of dumping all the info at the same.

Increased amount of visible items in item stash (5x4 -> 6x5).

Bug Fixes

Combat

  • Fixed incorrect multiplier for spell damage dealt to Sif creeps (90% -> 40%).
  • Fixed "Damage taken from Element" stat not affecting spell damage.
  • Fixed "Damage dealt by tower's attack type to creep's armor type" affecting spell damage. This stat should only affect attack damage.
  • Fixed global bug which cause tower abilities to have greater range than intended, range was about 1.5x bigger than normal.
  • Fixed tower attack range check being done from tower center. Should be done from the "edge of tower collision". In short, all attack ranges have been increased by 72.

Towers

  • Fixed being able to use active abilities against Immune creeps.
  • Fixed bug where secondary targets of Multishot and Splash attacks were considered to be "main targets".
  • Fixed stacking logic for buffs from same family but different tier. For such buffs, the buff from higher tier tower will always get prioritized.
  • Fixed Steal ability of Thief tower stealing too much gold.
  • Fixed Morphling tower clearing it's own Morph buffs.
  • Fixed Lightning Strike ability of Cloud Warrior having incorrect chance (30%->100%).
  • Fixed multiple issues with Ward ability of Voljin tower.
  • Fixed Purify ability of Voljin tower undercounting purge counts.
  • Fixed duration of Silence ability of Void Drake tower 2nd tier (1.25s->1.75s).
  • Fixed incorrect special for Shaman (spell crit chance -> attack crit chance).
  • Fixed Stunner being able to stun non-main attack targets. It's supposed to stun only the main target.
  • Fixed Burning Watchtower tower Burn ability getting triggered incorrectly. "on attack" -> "on hit".
  • Fixed Meteor Totem tower Attraction ability using wrong tower for dealing Meteor damage. Was using Meteor Totem tower, need to use the buffed tower.
  • Fixed Ancient Energy Converter tower Energy Conversion ability not dealing damage with orbs. The orbs are also supposed to deal damage every second to a random nearby creep.
  • Fixed Omnislasher shooting normal attack projectiles. It's not supposed to do that, instead it should deal damage only via the Omnislash ability.
  • Disabled Hell Bat tower because it's abilities depend on day/night cycle which is not implemented.
  • Fixed Zealot tower Zeal ability not scaling with upgrades. It was always using tier 1 values.
  • Fixed issue where Arcane Storm tower Attraction ability wouldn't stack above 2.
  • Fixed Marine tower Frag Grenade ability using incorrect buff duration (5s -> permanent).
  • Fixed Regenerating Well tower Replenish ability not automatically casting and also not replenishing mana even when manually casted.
  • Fixed Meteor Totem tower Attraction ability buffing all towers in range. Supposed to buff only 4 (+1/5lvl) towers.
  • Fixed Shard of Souls tower Soul Link ability affecting only 1 creep. Supposed to affect 3 creeps (+1 creep @ lvl15).
  • Fixed Black Dragon Roost tower Fear the Dark ability triggering too often (50% chance -> 20% chance).
  • Fixed Drake Whisperer tower Versatile ability. It was increasing DPS by 1.5% of tower's attack damage. Supposed to increase DPS based on the spell damage dealt by ability.
  • Fixed Icy Spirit tower Nova Storm ability slowing creeps near tower instead of near the position where Nova Storm hit.
  • Fixed Frosty Rock stun duration not increasing when upgrading tower.
  • Fixed Plagued Crypt tower Plague ability failing to increase Plague stacks sometimes.
  • Fixed Fiery Dog missing the "+damage/lvl" special.
  • Fixed Fire Star tower Ignite ability not getting increased damage when stacking up.
  • Fixed incorrect special for Gatling Gun (spell crit chance -> attack crit chance).
  • Fixed incorrect slow amount of Ice Mine tier 3 and tier 4 (1.1% -> 11% and 1.4% -> 14%)
  • Fixed Ebonfrost Crystal tower Shattering Barrage ability insta-killing creeps.
  • Fixed Nature Sprites tower Nature's Gift ability tooltip showing incorrect values (real values are correct).
  • Fixed Divine Elementalist tower Elemental Chaos ability Lightning Burst sub-ability incorrectly scaling with tower level (+6000dmg/level -> 60dmg/level).

Items

  • Fixed incorrect effect of Ogre Battle Axe (spell crit chance -> attack crit chance)
  • Fixed Stunner item incorrectly stunning non-main targets. This item should work only on main targets.
  • Changed Jewels of the Moon to give 3 exp always instead of 2 during day and 4 during night. This is to account for the lack of day/night cycle.
  • Changed rarity of some items Common->Uncommon. Affected items: Electrified Horseshoe, Claws of Attack, Shimmerweed, Void Vial, Railgun, Sacred Halo, Gargoyle Wing. These items did not look right as common items because they are more powerful than some analogous uncommon items. For example, Ancient Inscribed Bark (+5 dps, +20% to magical) vs Void Vial (+50% to magical -10% mana regen). (reverted in patch 0.16.1)
  • Changed rarity of Periscope item to Common, to match it's power. (reverted in patch 0.16.1)

Builders

  • Fixed Backpacker builder effect "towers can only carry items of same rarity". Effect was broken and towers could carry any rarity item, fixed it to apply this restriction correctly.
  • Fixed Backpacker builder bonus recipes being available always, even without choosing Backpacker builder.
  • Fixed Backpacker builder allowing towers to carry more than 6 items.

Creeps

  • Fixed Ethereal, Unlucky and Stun Revenge specials not being affected by silence.

Misc

  • Fixed autofill buttons in horadric cube not checking for items inside horadric cube itself.
  • Fixed not being able to add 6 items to horadric cube, needed for Backpacker recipes.
  • Increased max food cap (99->300).
  • Fixed bug where you could press "Start next wave" button after the final wave has started. This action incremented the wave level without spawning a new wave and caused final boss to not give exp.
